A workgroup color LED printer with a budget price

As a long time Hewlett Packard Laserjet printer person, it was hard for me to accept the concept of getting a new laser printer other than a HP. I have been using HP laser products starting with the Laserjet Series II all the way through the HP Color Laserjet 5550 series printers. When I was looking at new printers recently, Okidata offered me the opportunity to test out a couple of their printers. I was dubious at first, but after seeing the ease of maintenance of the printers and the quality of the prints, I went ahead with the testing.

Okidata makes their own print engines, whereas a lot of manufacturers source the print engine from other vendors. Xerox purchases a lot of their print engines from Okidata whereas HP sources from Canon, among others.

Price:

This feature packed printer comes with an incredible price point. At the time of this review, I was able to find this printer for $849 to $992 without much searching. For a workgroup, color laser printer with duplex capability and the print speed this has, this is a great price point. Nothing is short changed as far as features goes.
